Healing With Nature’s Miracles

This afternoon I took a three-mile hike on the beach. The water was beautiful and the cool sea breeze was refreshing. The Sea Gulls were out fishing and basking in the sun. As I walked, I thought about my animals who had passed over and asked for a sign from them.

At some point along my journey, I noticed two people hunched over further up on the sand. My first thought was that there was an injured animal. When I called out to the animal kingdom and asked if that were the case, I heard that this was not so. Still feeling drawn to the scene, I decided to walk over anyway and see what was going on.     

When I got to the spot, I was met by volunteers from the Surfrider Foundation who had come to clean up the beach. Holding large bags in their hands, they explained to me what they were looking at. As I peered down, I noticed a simple yet powerful sight. A single blade of grass had grown up from the sand. As the wind blew it around, it had created a perfect circle circumference. 

I could not take my eyes off it for several minutes and after shooting several photos, I continued along on my beach adventure. As I walked on, I remembered that not long before I had asked my departed ones for a sign. How wonderfully fitting that my request was fulfilled with one of “Nature’s Miracles”.          

Epilogue

Just as I finished writing this blog post, I noticed a stunning sunset outside my window. I blew out the lavender candle burning on my altar, grabbed my cell phone, and headed toward the ocean. Crossing the street, I ran into a neighbor and his dog. He commented that the colors in the sky were much further east and closer to where I live than usual. His dog was very vocal in urging me onto the ocean. Once on the sand and appreciating the amazing setting sun, it dawned on me that this was a second sign from my beloveds. Nature had shared yet another Miracle with me and I am left with a sense of awe and gratitude.
